2012: Imagine

I like to think of the date December 21 2012 as not only a date, but a symbol the entrance into new paradigm, one of peace, love, and sustainability rather than war, fear, and runaway consumption. I honestly do think that this cyclical shift can and will happen in what seems to be so short a time. One of the reasons that I think this is possible is because I feel as though what we think of as time is speeding up, and it has been throughout the current cycle.

There are many things that I can "imagine" in the John Lennon sense that would be a part of this new paradigm, but one possibility that really sticks out to me is the end of war and weapons of mass destruction.

I know that many people insist that wars and the need for a military will never go away, but I beg to differ. All we have to do is make the promise, each one of us on the planet, that regardless of what our differences are, we won't kill anybody. Period.

Murder is illegal everywhere, and it is against all religions in their purest forms, so this should be easy to accomplish. It is governments and "leaders" who insist on wars, not the people who actually fight them.

Imagine the money, people power, brain power, research motivation, and energy that would be saved if nobody exerted an iota of resources of any kind on "defense spending." That in and of itself would transform human consciousness and set us free to co-create without fear of one another, and I don't think that anyone can imagine what the result of that type of shift toward true freedom might accomplish.
